About Mothers’ Union

The Mothers’ Union in Kenya is a fellowship of Christian women dedicated to strengthening families, marriages, and the wider community in the love of Christ. Founded in 1918 and formally established among African women in 1956, the movement has grown across the Anglican Church of Kenya with a shared commitment to prayer, fellowship, service, and advocacy. United under the motto from Philippians 4:13, the Mothers’ Union continues to nurture faith, uphold family values, and serve both church and society.

Mission: To support Christian family life through prayer, teaching, service, and advocacy.

Vision: Strong and faithful families living in the love of Christ.

Objectives

• To uphold Christ’s teaching on marriage and family life.
• To encourage parents to raise their children in the faith.
• To unite women in fellowship, prayer, and service.
• To support families facing adversity with love and care.
• To advocate for conditions in society favorable to children and stable homes.
